Theory Test Fees
Theory test fees will change from the 1st of October 2015 for all types of vehicles. The fee for the car theory test will fall from £25 to £23. You can now book tests from the 1st of October onwards. On the 23rd of June in 2014 the then Transport Minister Stephen Hammond ( Patrick McLoughlin current Transport Minister) announced a 25% savings over 9 years. This amounts to a savings of over a £100 million for learner drivers. Fees for motorcycles and cars started to drop in October 2014 by £6 and then the further reduction of £2 in October 2015.
Theory Test
Each year over 1.6 million candidates take the theory test in the UK. The pass rates are just over 50%. The test is made up of two parts. The multiple choice has 50 questions the pass mark is 43. The second part the hazard perception has 14 clips each 1 minute long, the pass mark is 44 out of 75 marks.
